ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
 

Admittance to Official Master Studies at the University is limited to these applicants and regulations:

  • Degree holders from a Spanish university
  • Students who hold an international degree from a university pertaining to the European System of Higher Education (EEES) which allows entry into official Master studies.
  • Students who hold an international degree from a university that does NOT belong to the European System of Higher Education whose degrees have been officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education (homologación de título en el Ministerio de Educación).
  • Students who hold an international degree from a university that does NOT belong to the European System of Higher Education who do not have an official degree recognition from the Ministry of Education (homologación) but have applied for the Official Recognition of their Degree at the University of Salamanca (Equivalencia).

The Official Recognition of your Degree from the University of Salamanca (Equivalencia) does in no way imply the Official Recognition from the Ministry of Education (homologación del título en el Ministerio de Educación).

DEGREE RECOGNITION (EQUIVALENCIA)

Students who hold an international degree from a university that does NOT belong to the European System of Higher Education, need to apply for the Official Recognition of their Degree at the University of Salamanca (Equivalencia), unless they already have the official recognition of their degree from the Spanish Ministry of Education (homologación del título en el Ministerio de Educación). The degree recognition forms must be submitted separately from the Master application forms. A student may be admitted to the Master program, but if the recognition has not been processed and approved, the student may not register for classes.

Degree recognition applications are accepted year-round. Please allow a minimum of two months for processing and approval. It is recommended to begin the application process early in order to meet all other corresponding application deadlines.

The degree recognition application should include the following documentation:

  • Degree Recognition Application Form
  • Proof of payment of processing fees for degree recognition. This step is required before processing can be completed
  • Legalized copy of National ID or passport
  • Legalized copy of undergraduate degree or its equivalent
  • Legalized copy of academic transcripts that indicate student grade point average, names of courses, duration, and number of credits.
  • Legalized copy of certification of total number of credit hours received in degree (must include a sum of all credits).
  • Legalized certificate from the degree-granting university (legally translated into Spanish) specifying that the applicant’s degree enables them to pursue a Master degree.

Non-legalized copies will not be accepted under any circumstances.

All documents require a certified and legalized translation into Spanish (except for those Italian students qualifying under the July 14, 1999 Spanish-Italian agreement [BOE November 18 2000]).

Incomplete documents or documents that do not fulfill the specified legalization requirements will not be accepted and will be returned to sender without processing.

Please submit all forms and documentation to: Sección de Estudios de Grado y Máster (Patio de Escuelas 1, 37008 Salamanca). All document submission must be sent via certified post, courier service, or in-person. No other forms of submission will be accepted (e-mail, fax etc.)

APPLICATION PROCESS

First Application Period: March 1- July 15

Students desiring to start the Master’s program should initiate the application process before the deadline of either application period even if they do not have all of the required documents.

Application Forms and Required Documentation:

After deadlines, please consult individual Centers and Faculties for admittance lists.

  • Application Form approved by the Master Program Director.
  • Copy of ID or Passport.
  • Legalized copy of undergraduate degree allowing access to official Master-level studies. Students who hold an international degree from a university pertaining to the European System of Higher Education (EEES) must present a certificate from their university (legally translated into Spanish) specifying that their degree allows them to pursue a Master degree. Students who hold an international degree from a university that does NOT belong to the European System of Higher Education, need to apply for the Official Recognition of their Degree at the University of Salamanca (Equivalencia), unless they already have the official recognition of their degree from the Spanish Ministry of Education (homologación del título en el Ministerio de Educación).
  • Legalized copy of academic transcripts indicating student grade point average, names of courses, duration, and number of credits.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Other specific documentation may be required by the individual Master degrees. For specific program documentation, please visit corresponding departmental webpages.

All documents require a certified and legalized translation into Spanish (except for those Italian students qualifying under the July 14, 1999 Spanish-Italian agreement [BOE November 18 2000]).

All applications should be sent to the department or school to which the student is applying.

ADMISSION

Further information can be found on the individual Master program webpages. ADMISSION Apart from general application requirements, each academic committee associated with a Master’s program may also require additional admittance criteria pertaining to their program regulations.

  • The academic committee of each Master may publish lists of admitted students on the last day of each month starting in the month of March. These lists will be available on departmental websites. Admitted students will also be personally notified by the academic committee of their respective programs.
  • The academic committee of each Master is required to publish a preliminary admittance list on July 17 or on September 15.

Admission lists serve to indicate admittance to the official Master studies of the University, and does not imply, under any circumstance, changes in academic standing, previously awarded degrees or previous professional titles granted to those listed.

Students should review the specific criteria for each program on the individual Master’s webpage.

Partial tuition fees may be required.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

Students admitted on July 17 should complete the online registration between July 21 and September 10.

Students admitted on September 15 should complete online registration between September 16 and 30.
