Undergraduate Degree in Fine Arts

Overview

The Degree in Fine Arts will commence at USAL in the 2010-2011 academic year, once it has passed the verification process. It will replace the Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts.

Graduates of the Fine Arts Degree from the University of Salamanca will be professionals with knowledge, skills and abilities that will enable them to create and produce art in all forms of media and cultural spaces. They may also exercise responsible decision-making in businesses that deal with the world of image, as in cultural management.

These studies are structured in four modules. 1) Specific processes of artistic practice and tools for any disciplinary field; 2) Specific artistic disciplines articulated in the block of artistic techniques (Drawing, Sculpture, Painting, Photography, Digital Imaging, Engraving, etc.) and in artistic creation and production; 3) Sources showing the auxiliary contexts and areas in which artistic practices are limited, showing the views that other diciplines have about art; and 4) The Final Year Project

The Degree lasts four years (60 ECTS credits per year, 240 to be completed overall), and is made up of semester long modules, each of which carries 6 ECTS, except the Final Year Project which carries 18 ECTS. All of the subjects have a theoretical and practical element and the elective modules (24 ECTS) are taught in 3rd and 4th year.
