Undergraduate Degree in Art History

Overview

The Undergraduate Degree in Art History will commence at USAL once it has passed the verification process. It will replace the Bachelors in Art History.

The degree lasts 4 years (60 ECTS credits per year, 240 to complete overall) and is made up of semester long modules. The core modules (60 ECTS), some of which are shared with other degrees in the faculty are taught during the 1st year. The compulsory modules (138 ECTS) are planned for 2nd and 3rd year and the 1st semester of 4th year. They are taken from three main topics: A basic history of universal art, knowledge about historical and artistic heritage, and systematic and integrated knowledge of art. The elective modules (36 ECTS) are studied in the last three semesters and the final year project (6ECTS) in the last semester. In the last semester students have the option of carrying out external work placements in businesses, institutions, foundations, etc.
