Undergraduate Degree in Humanities

Overview

The Undergraduate Degree in Humanities will commence at the USAL in the academic year 2010-11, once it has been fully approved, and will replace the Bachelors Degree in Humanities

The students of this programme will develop two levels of skills: a) a general level focussed on Human Science with a multidisciplinary approach and from a contemporary perspective, b) practical and applied level which provides those skills required in the job market. Students can choose either of the following specializations:
- “Heritage Management”: design projects and cultural activities, organise events; as well as experts in cultural policies, promoters of artistic, cultural and scientific creativity.
- “International Cooperation and Development”: design and implement specific development projects involving both NGOs and public administration, as well as work for international private and public companies.
- “Texts analysis and critique”: train students to become experts in editing, producing, disseminating and critisizing texts on philosphy, literature and linguistics.

The degree takes 4 years to complete (60 ECTS credits per year, 240 in total) and consists of semester long modules 6 ECTS each: basic training modules (96 ECTS), compulsory modules (72 ECTS), electives (60 ECTS), compulsory work placement (6 ECTS), and final project (6 ECTS).
