Undergraduate Degree in Classical Philology Studies

Overview

The undergraduate degree inStudies will begin in the 2010-11 academic year. It will be taught simultaneously with another 9 degrees in the Faculty of Philology:

  • Undergraduate Degree in German Studies
  • Undergraduate Degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies
  • Undergraduate Degree in French Studies
  • Undergraduate Degree Studies in Hebrew and Aramaic Studies
  • Undergraduate Degree in Hispanic Philology
  • Undergraduate Degree in Italian Studies
  • Undergraduate Degree in English Studies
  • Undergraduate Degree in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies
  • Undergraduate Degree in Languages, Literature and Roman Culture

All of the degrees share core modules in the first two years. Therefore they share all the basic cross-training, all the basic philological classes (Second Language, General Linguistics, Literary Theory, etc.) and a common catalogue of elective subjects with general and introductory content. In this way students can design their curriculum to suit their own interests by combining the various possibilities offered in the first two years. For example they can choose a list of subjects that will give their degree a more linguistic, literary or cultural aspect. For these same reasons it facilitates the transfer of credits among the various degrees.
