Design, manufacture and testing of pharmaceuticals
Overview
The main objective of this Masters degree is to provide health science graduates and graduates from related fields with the necessary training (at a theoretical and practical level), to design, obtain and evaluate molecules with pharmacological activity. The graduates will then be employable in research centres, the pharmaceutical industry and related sectors.
In this regards, in relation to academic and research training, this degree aims to:
* Provide solid training in interdisciplinary research.
* Empower students to acquire the skills that will enable autonomous development in the learning process.
* To develop in the students the capacity to engage in activities related to research and scientific and technological innovation.
* Train students in the skills required for communication with the scientific community and with society on pharmaceutical issues.
* Enable students to promote innovation and technological advances in the field of medicine.
* Increase the professionalism of students, incorporating as part of their training, learning methodologies, skills and competencies that entry into the working world demand in today's society.
* Provide scientific and technical knowledge to enable students to develop projects in the areas of design, manufacture and evaluation of drugs, essential steps for the subsequent development and release of new drugs.
* To enable the students to solve problems in a professional environment and facilitate their integration in the pharmaceutical industry and other industries.
In addition to general skills the course also aims to: a) Instill in the student the capacity to apply knowledge and acquired skills to solve problems in new settings and multidisciplinary contexts; b) the acquisition of communication skills; c) the acquisition of learning skills that allow the student to continue to study autonomously. d) language proficiency, e) the management of information technology and communication.
Ultimately this degree aims to train the student in the ability to develop high quality research which in turn enables them to develop, direct and manage research projects.
