The programme aims to provide coverage of academic, official, academic and stable specialized training at a higher level for the technical prevention of occupational risks, as provided by Annex VI of the Regulations of Prevention Services, approved by Royal Decree 39/1997 of 17 January, and coordinators of health and safety on construction sites, in line with the provisions of special legislation (mainly the Law 38/1999 of 5 November, Construction Planning , Royal Decree 1627/1997 of 24 October, establishing minimum health and safety at construction sites and the relevant technical guidance developed by the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety at Work).

The courses are divided into two itineraries. The first devoted to the management of occupational hazards common to both courses. It incorporates the essential lessons to meet the common training requirements for training certification that enables higher level functions to be performed in the prevention of occupational hazards. The second of the modules allows for the modelling of two different professional and defendant profiles of the type differentiated by society. The Masters in Occupational Risk Management aims to assist in the design of the consultant, an integral figure in occupational risk prevention for all sectors and with a wide field of influence that includes the work of safety adviser for the transport of dangerous goods. The Masters in Management and Coordination of Safety in Construction Works follows the general training aspects of this field of knowledge but its scope focuses in particular on the prevention of occupational hazards in this sector. The two specialization modules include mandatory workplace placements in companies or associations which will be implemented in a real environment putting into practice fundamentals acquired in other subjects of the respective modules.

Students of the Masters in Management and Coordination of Safety in Construction Works have automatic access to the second module of the Masters in occupational risk management. The same does not happen automatically in reverse, since access to the Masters in Management and Coordination of Safety in Construction Works is restricted to certain university graduates (engineers and technical engineers and architects and technical architects) in line with the normative framework.
