 We are here to…

• Promote university volunteer work, public participation and solidarity between the members of the University Community.
• Encourage critical awareness of Human Rights and the support of social values.
• Guide, inform and raise awareness within the University Community of the possibilities of participation in volunteer work projects and activities.
• Offer information to members of the University Community who are interested in or carrying out volunteer work.
• Stimulate volunteer work projects and activities as well as development cooperation when related to social disadvantages and the promotion of sustainability.
• Cooperate with University of Salamanca's centres and departments as well as other local organizations and inform volunteer workers of the possibilities of participating with these.
• Join up and actively combine efforts with similar networks.
• Get to know the circumstances and development of volunteer schemes, both in the university and in other fields, with the aim of continually improving the programmes.

• Committees: environmental, disabilities, gender, immigration, elderly, minors, public health.
• Weekly radio show, Viento voluntario, on Radio Universidad
• Awareness campaigns.
• Training workshops.
• Coordination and follow-up sessions.
• Inter-university volunteer work.
• Working together with other organizations and social networks.

As well as… European Voluntary Service

With the Volunteer Work Unit of the Department of Social Services, the University of Salamanca works alongside the European Voluntary Service, within the Youth in Action Programme (Programa La Juaventud en Acción).

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) fosters transnational volunteering amongst young people. Voluntary workers are able to carry out activities in countries other than their countries of origin. These activities are unpaid and nonprofit making and are carried out full-time over a set period (12 months maximum), for the benefit of the community.
The EVS's activities are carried out in different fields, such as: culture, youth, sports, welfare, cultural heritage, arts, civil protection, environment, etc.
